MASSENA – Board Certified physician Nigelarani Sivapalasingam, MD, has joined the Massena Hospital medical team, and is providing primary care services at the Louisville Health Center, 10 State Highway 37B.

Dr. Siva, as she likes to be called, is American Board of Internal Medicine certified, and earned her medical degree from the University of Jaffna, Medical School, Jaffna, Sri Lanka. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Coney Island Hospital, Brooklyn, NY.

Dr. Siva comes to St. Lawrence Health with extensive experience in working with geriatric patients, and those in acute care, and long-term care.

Upon coming to the North Country, she noted the services provided throughout the system, along with the beauty of the region, were an enormous draw for her.

“Massena Hospital, and the whole of St. Lawrence Health, have nearly all the facilities and specialties in a peaceful, non-congested area that you would find in a bustling city. Patients do not have to wait a long time to get an appointment into see their provider,” Dr. Siva said. “It gives me with a calming mindset to be able to provide a quality of service to the residents in the area.”
