POTSDAM – St. Lawrence Health’s Patient Experience team was made aware there are times when patients are discharged from one of its hospitals in scrubs because the clothing they wore upon arrival may no longer be in appropriate condition for them to go home in.
A Clothes Closet was set up at Canton-Potsdam, Gouverneur, and Massena hospitals where clothing has been made available for patients in such circumstances.
Most recently, funding from an Employees Giving Generously grant was split between the three hospitals, and clothing packets were assembled that include a sweatshirt, t-shirt, sweatpants, socks, and underclothing.
Shoes, hats, and gloves are also available when needed.
