POTSDAM – Dinosaurs, bears, a dragon, unicorn and mermaid were among the dozens of snow creations at the Frosty Fest competition on Saturday, Jan. 28.

Family and friends, young and old, were busy packing their snow into unique creations at Ives Park.

Community members also enjoyed the free coffee and hot chocolate, s’mores and cookies by the campfire.

Awards and prizes were given for Best in Show, Most North Country, Most Comedic, Most Artistic, and Most Unique.

Potsdam Central School National Art Honor Society judges were Lillian Dow, Lindy Betrus, Keillor Dilger, Emilee Bartos, Amelia Crosslin, Darian Grant, Halle Varney.

The annual event was hosted by the North Country Children's Museum, St. Lawrence County Arts and Potsdam Chamber of Commerce.

The snow creatures can be seen at Ives Park, and they are lit up at night for viewing also.
