Democrat Jean Lapper is running for the New York State Senate in the newly reconfigured District 45, the largest senate district in the state which includes much of St. Lawrence County as well as surrounding counties.

She will arrive in St. Lawrence County on Sunday, Sept. 25, and will meet local voters in Potsdam, Canton, Massena, and Akwesasne.

Her first stop will be at Jernabi’s Coffeehouse, 11 Maple Street in Potsdam, from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

Next on the schedule is a visit to Canton from noon to 1:30 p.m.

If weather permits she will meet at the village park, or in the Paige Room downstairs in the Canton Free Library across from the park in the event of rain.

Massena is the next destination with a visit from 2-3:30 pm at Tim Horton's at 232 Main St.

Her last visit will be to Akwesasne from 4-5:30 pm at the pavilion in the Generations Park, 30 Margaret Terrance Memorial Way.

Lapper is CPA from Queensbury, and as a small business owner herself, she knows small businesses are the backbone of the North Country and understands their needs, including the importance of broadband to the region.

She is a strong supporter of reproductive rights and, as a mother, knows the importance of quality childcare.
