COVID-19 has now killed 16 in St. Law. County as 11 new cases reported for Tuesday

St. Lawrence County Public Health Department officials report there are now a total of 16 people in the county who have died as a result of COVID-19. Meanwhile, Public Health says there were 11 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the county on Tuesday, Dec. 1.

There are 214 active cases with seven of them hospitalized.

Health officials said 734 cases have been released from isolation and nine have died of the illness.

County hospitals have performed 118,338 tests for COVID-19 as of Monday, the most recent date for which data was available. So far, there have been a total of 964 confirmed coronavirus cases in St. Lawrence County.

Testing is done through local hospital systems by appointment only. Call the numbers below between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. if you have symptoms or feel you should be tested:

"New York On PAUSE continues until December 27th 2020 (as written in Executive Order 202.78), requiring postponement, cancellation, or restriction of all non-essential gatherings of more than 10 (ten) individuals at private residences, and other gatherings occurring indoors must not exceed 50% of maximum capacity up to 50 people, provided the region has reached Phase 4 of the State’s reopening, and provided that social distancing, face covering, and cleaning and disinfection protocols required by the Department of Health are adhered to.
