St. Lawrence County Office for the Aging and SeaComm Federal Credit Union plan on giving senior citizens and the general public information on identity theft in several St. Lawrence County locations over the next several weeks.
The presentation, given by SeaComm Federal Credit Union Business Development Coordinator Jerry Manor, will provide useful information to help people prevent identity theft from happening to them.
The presentations will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on these dates at these following locations
Jan. 31 -- Potsdam Nutrition Site
Feb. 1 -- Canton Nutrition Site
Feb. 3 -- Brasher Nutrition Site
Feb. 10 -- DeKalb Junction Nutrition Site
Feb. 11 -- Star Lake Nutrition Site
Feb. 24 -- Ogdensburg Nutrition Site
Feb. 25 -- Edwards Nutrition Site
Feb. 28 -- Morristown Nutrition Site
Identity theft is a serious crime that occurs when someone uses your personal information, like your name, Social Security number, or credit card number, without your permission, to commit fraud or other crimes.
All senior citizens are invited to have lunch after the presentation. The suggested donation for the lunch for seniors 60 and over is $3, and for guests under 60, $5.
