POTSDAM – The 2010 Craft Food and Wine Show Friday and Saturday, Dec. 3 and 4, in Clarkson’s University’s Cheel Center, is planning on more booth space than ever to accommodate as many vendors as possible.

St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce Events Manager Jo Ann Robert says the show, formerly Clarkson’s annual Autumn Craft Fair, is opening up booth space in the Cheel lobby in addition to the 110 spaces in the arena. The arena spaces are sold out, Roberts said.

The main lobby, known as “Main Street,” will have 14 booth spaces for one-day vendors, who can take a booth for either Friday’s show or Saturday’s, giving businesspeople another 28 chances to get in on the show.

“Last year we turned away 26 vendors who were on the wait-list,” Roberts said. She said Cheel management estimated last year’s attendance at 2,000 and record sales and booth attendance were reported by vendors.

“This year we have a nice mix of crafters, artisans, and food and wine vendors. Four wineries are participating with tastings and selling by the bottle.,” Roberts says.

“Some vendors are coming from out of state, and we have some new vendors who heard about last year’s success,” she said.

The event will run from noon to 8 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for Saturday’s show. Public admission is $1.

To sign up for a booth, at $50, or for more information, call the County Chamber of Commerce at 386-4000.
