Cooperative Extension seeking 4-H leaders for St. Lawrence County

CANTON – Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County is seeking 4-H leaders to help continue the tradition of applied hands-on experience that develops the heads, hearts, hands, and health of St. Lawrence County youth.

4-H is the youth development component of the Cornell Cooperative Extension system. It helps young people from rural and urban areas explore their interests and expand their awareness of our world. The program provides an opportunity to develop a greater sense of how to become a contributing citizen of our communities, our state, our nation, and our world. This program is achieved through research-based educational programs of Cornell University.

Anyone who would consider becoming a 4-H Leader or a Project Leader for a group or a one-time class, is asked to contact the Cornell Cooperative Extension office in Canton. They say they will be happy to visit with anyone who might be interested in any of the various aspects of the 4-H program.

They offer learning opportunities in the science and technology, leadership, citizenship and volunteerism, communications and expressive arts, family and consumer sciences, environmental education and natural resources, food and fiber systems and animal science and safety.

Call 379-9192 for more information.
