HAMMOND -- The Hammond community came together recently to raise money for a boy battling cancer.

Above, Fire Chief Len Bickelhaupt, on left, and President Don Ceresoli present Riley Marsaw with a check for $2,000 to help defray medical expenses.

Riley, a 10-year-old, fifth grader at Hammond Central School, was recently diagnosed with Lymphocyte Predominant Hodgkins disease. This has resulted in a weekly 8-to-9-hour treatment in Syracuse at the Golisano Cancer Center.

Hammond Fire and Rescue recently conducted a fundraiser dinner to benefit the Marsaw family. Photo Submitted by Stephen Trenton, Hammond Fire and Rescue.
