OGDENSBURG -- The Committee to bring the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall to Ogdensburg June 2 – 7 has raised enough money for the down payment but still needs more.
Committee members say they are still short of the final payment.
They are encouraging St. Lawrence County residents to make a donation in memory of all the fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters and friends that were killed, wounded or still missing in action.
Donations can be sent to The Traveling Memorial Wall, Amvets Post #19, 215 Ford St., Ogdensburg, NY 13669, in care of Don Cooke.
Volunteers are also being sought to help with giving directions to visitors for parking, finding loved ones’ names and many other tasks. Those able to donate some time while the Traveling Wall is in Ogdensburg are asked to e-mail romanocrose@yahoo.com or amvets2010@yahoo.com or call 393-6140. Individuals and organization are also invited to participate in the ceremonies while the wall is in Ogdensburg. People are welcome to stop in to the AmVets to see the progress or join the committee, which meets every Sunday at the Amvets at 6:30 p.m.
