OGDENSBURG – A commission representing Gov. Andrew Cuomo is holding regional planning meetings around the state this week, including one in Ogdensburg.
The Lake Ontario Resiliency and Economic Development Initiative (REDI) Commission, a multi-agency task force, is charged with developing a plan to strengthen infrastructure along the Lake Ontario and St. Lawrence River waterfronts while bolstering the region’s local economies.
Commissioners will be meeting with planning committee members, various other state commissioners, regional officials and community stakeholders, according to an announcement from the REDI.
The meeting in Ogdensburg is set for 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12 at Dobisky Visitors’ Center, 100 Riverside Ave.
The purpose, according to the announcement, is discussion of current assets and risks in Lake Ontario and St. Lawrence River shoreline communities and making a list of priority projects tied to economic development and infrastructure.
Proposed projects will be shared with the REDI Commission “to ensure communities have the assistance they need to rebuild stronger and more resilient than ever,” the announcement said.
