Cold temps settling into SLC; wind, wintry precipitation possible for Thanksgiving travel
After a quiet start to the upcoming work week, the St. Lawrence Valley will likely see some gusty winds and mixed wintry precipitation Tuesday night through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Accumulations for any wintry precipitation seem limited at this time, but given the volume of traffic expected on Wednesday, this precipitation could cause difficult travel conditions, NWS says.Forecasters predict a high temperature today around 37 with chances of rain or snow until mid-afternoon. The overnight low will be around 21.
A chilly Monday is on tap with a high near 32 degrees expected, the service says.
The extended forecast through next Saturday is as follows:

Mostly clear, with a low around 20. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph after midnight.
A chance of rain after 1pm, mixing with snow after 5pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 40. East wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
