Cold temperatures and mostly clear skies will prevail today in St. Lawrence County with transient high pressure over the region, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Expect a high today near 31 with sunny skies, forecasters say. The overnight low will be around 21.
Weak low pressure passing south of the North Country will bring some chances for light snow accumulations up to an inch tonight into early tomorrow, NWS says.
Unsettled weather continues through the rest of the week with intermittent chances of snow through Tuesday and a warming trend above seasonal averages for the middle of the week with more chances of rain and high elevation snow showers, the service says.
The forecast through next Saturday is as follows:
Monday
Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 30. North wind around 6 mph becoming west in the afternoon.
Monday Night
Partly cloudy, with a low around 15. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight.
Tuesday
A 30 percent chance of snow showers after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34. Light and variable wind becoming southwest around 5 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Tuesday Night
Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
Wednesday
Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38. Southwest wind 9 to 11 mph.

A chance of snow showers before 3am, then a chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29. South wind 7 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
