OGDENSBURG -- Serious illness and death brings up many difficult questions and feelings. As we face the possibility of death and dying, we all have fears, worries, and concerns.
Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley staff has received special training to help people address these issues. Social workers, counselors and nondenominational chaplains can meet with patients or with the entire family to help everyone come to a better understanding of the situation and determine how to meet each others' needs with grace and love.
Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center and Hospice has teamed up with Hospice to offer a grief education and discussion program called the Healing Circle.
The support group meets on the first Wednesday of every month. The next meeting is Wednesday, Dec. 1, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Medical Center auditorium.
The program will be facilitated by Hospice Staff Amy Shaver, MSW.
