Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center adds four new advance practice providers to medical staff

OGDENSBURG - Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center has added four new advance practice providers to its medical staff.

In June, the Medical Center welcomed Family Nurse Practitioner Mylene Jumalon to Dr. Juan Diego-Harris's pain management practice and Registered and Certified Physician Assistant Christopher Haserodt to the emergency department staff.

In August, the medical Center welcomed Physician Assistant Christopher LaPoint to the hospitalist program and Registered and Certified Physician Assistant Deborah McCabe to the Hammond Area Health Center.

Jumalon earned her bachelors of science degree of nursing from St. Paul University of Manila, Philippines and her masters of science degree in family nursing from Binghamton University, Binghamton.

She most recently joins them from Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton, where she worked as perioperative nurse.

Haserodt earned his certified emergency medical technician certification from Miami-Dade Community College, Miami, Fla., and then earned his bachelor of science in medical sciences from Mercy College of Detroit Physician Assistant Program, Detroit, Mich.

He is a member of the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants.

Haserodt most recently joins Claxton-Hepburn from Brockville General Hospital, Brockville, Ont., where he worked as a physician assistant in their emergency department.

LaPoint earned his bachelor of arts in clinical and child psychology from Alfred University, Rochester, and then went on to earn his bachelor of science, physician assistant, from the Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester.

He is a member of the Rochester Regional Physician Association, American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Physician Assistant Student Association.

He most recently joins the hospital from Hillside Family of Agencies, Varick, NY, where he worked as a diagnostic unit supervisor.

McCabe earned her bachelor of science degree in biology from Western Connecticut State University, Danbury, Conn., and then went on to earn a bachelors of science degree in health science, her physician assistant certification and a masters degree in health science, all from Duke University, Durham, N.C.

She is a member of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, American Academy of Physician Assistants, Society of Air Force Physician Assistants, Society of Army Physician Assistants, New York State Physician Assistants and Northern New York Society of Physician Assistants.

McCabe joins Claxton-Hepburn most recently from Black River Medial Center, Watertown, where she worked as a physician assistant.
