Claxton-Hepburn Auxiliary to award five $1,000 scholarships to high school grads planning on medical careers

OGDENSBURG -- The Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Auxiliary will award five $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school students planning to enter the medical field.

Three $1,000 scholarships will go to a graduating child or grandchild of an employee or of an auxiliary member at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center.

Two additional scholarships will be awarded to a graduating senior in Ogdensburg, Lisbon, Heuvelton, Morristown, Madrid-Waddington or Hammond.

Applications will be available at school guidance offices or from the auxiliary liaison office at the hospital, 393-1559.

All Applicants must submit the following:

• A written letter of application for the scholarship explaining why you feel you are qualified to receive the scholarship.

• A complete application form.

• One written letter of recommendation from a teacher, administrator or guidance director.

• A transcript of grades.

All applications must be post marked no later than April 5.

The recipients will be invited to accept at the auxiliary’s annual spring dinner, May 15 at the GranView restaurant at 5 p.m.
