POTSDAM -- Clarkson University has launched iPhone and Android mobile apps to provide information about the college to prospective students in a format they use every day.
The project is part of the university's Web redevelopment project. People can easily install the new mobile application software onto their iPhones or Android mobile phones.
The free Discover Clarkson app features student spotlights, a video tour, a GPS-enabled walking tour, updated news, important deadline and event dates, and contact information.
The iPhone app is available on iTunes at http://www.clarkson.edu/itunes-app. The Android app is available on the Android Market or at http://www.clarkson.edu/android-app.
Prospective students who download the apps are immediately set up with an admissions counselor in their region and given the ability to learn about their counselor and the admissions process.
