OGDENSBURG – Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center’s (CHMC) Richard E. Winter Cancer Treatment Center received $10,000 in grant funding from the St. Lawrence County Cancer Fund.
This support will address needs that also align with objectives of the St. Lawrence County Cancer Fund: to create an additional treatment space to accommodate growing demand by providing comfortable treatment space, to educate on the importance of cancer screenings, and to continue the patient nutrition program, providing high-quality protein snacks during treatment to increase comfort and improve the patient experience.
“We are so grateful for the SLC Cancer Fund’s continued support over the years,” says Kay Zimmer, REW Cancer Treatment Center Director, “This new grant will allow us to keep patients comfortable during care, and hopefully catch cancer earlier with the focus on screening education.”
