Canton’s TAUNY Center fundraising after three months closed
CANTON — TAUNY, 53 is raising funds to begin a new chapter in its history.
After a three month closure due to the pandemic, The TAUNY Center and North Country Folkstore recently reopened on June 8th. Since reopening, TAUNY’s staff has been busy planning new digital and socially distanced ways of connecting the community, including online tours of the “St. Lawrence County Barn Quilts” exhibit, kitchen demonstrations, and other programs celebrating the folklife and living traditions of our region. It’s quick and easy to make a gift online at tauny.org/support. Checks can be mailed to The TAUNY Center, 53 Main St., Canton, NY 13617. For more information, call 315-386-4289 or stop by The TAUNY Center in Canton.“Donor support has made a lot of incredible experiences and connections possible at TAUNY,” says TAUNY’s Executive Director Jill Breit, “At TAUNY, we’ve always believed in the power of creative human connection to sustain a healthy society. Our commitment to bringing people of all ages and backgrounds together from across the North Country to share what is most important about their lives with each other, to learn more about the diverse living traditions of our region, and to experience the richness of North Country culture will not change in the days ahead. Thank you to everyone who has made a donation and supported the organization during this difficult time.”
