CANTON -- The village board of trustees has approved a new golf cart lease for the municipal-run Partridge Run course.
The mayor and trustees approved the new lease at their meeting Nov. 18. Pending review by the village attorney.
The motion passed at the meeting ended the current golf car lease a year earlier than expected and will allow the village to go with a new supplier. The 15 golf carts at the course will be replaced.
“They’ve been having some trouble with some of the batteries in the one’s that will time out at the end of this next year,” said Village Trustee Carol Pynchon at the meeting. She said the recommendation by Kevin Maginn, course golf pro, is to end the year earlier and go with a different supplier. “He is working with a new supplier who he feels better about. The old supplier was suddenly becoming less attentive than they had been.”
Pynchon said the lease was routine, but was just being renewed a year earlier.
The new lease, which is paid for annually, will not impact the budget.
