CANTON – Members of the town board are expected to endorse a local law that gives Superintendent of Highways Steven Smith the authority to post weight limits on specific town roads at its next monthly board meeting on June 8.
The town currently has no documentation providing this authorization which will also include permission by Smith from town residents seeking detour routes.
If adopted in June, a public hearing will be scheduled for July.
