CANTON – On Wednesday at a brief joint meeting, both town and village boards approved the hiring of the consulting firm of Barton & Loguidice to engage in a strategic site plan for the proposed salt and storage facility at 12 Stiles Ave. at a cost of $49,250.
The Liverpool-based company was one of four vendors to return bids.

The town board’s first budget session will be held Thursday, Sept. 21, at 6 p.m. at the Canton Municipal Building, 60 Main St.
The town board agreed to hire MJ Engineering and Land Surveying, Clifton Park, to help keep Canton’s Comprehensive Plan on the right path. The cost is $8,900 to be split with the village.
