CANTON -- A group of more than 20 has been meeting with the Village and Town Recreation Committee since mid-December to “Reimagine Canton Recreation.”
Following five virtual meetings and substantial discussion and idea sharing, the advisory group has drafted a set of recommendations for the future of Canton recreation. Public input is being sought.
The recommendations reflect an understanding of available resources and the direction Canton residents would like to see for Canton municipal recreation programs and facilities. While members of the advisory groups have received input from others in their interest areas, the Recreation Committee is now seeking broad public feedback on the recommendations.
The draft recommendations, and additional information about the Reimagining Recreation process and advisory group participants, can be found on the Canton Village and Town website at https://cantonny.gov/community/parks-recreation/reimagining-canton-recreation.
Following review of the recommendations, anyone interested in providing feedback or asking questions may join the Zoom public forum on Monday, March 22 at 7 p.m. The Zoom link will be posted on the Canton website calendar and the Reimagining Canton Recreation webpage within 24 hours of the meeting. Input may also be shared on the Feedback Request Form at https://forms.gle/kEGxRPPjRxzXXmjw9.
