CANTON -- The Canton Police Department recently hosted two students who took part in the Ride-A-Long program.
Chase Bertrand and Carlie Whitman from Canton Central School were guests of the department as part of their BOCES Criminal Justice curriculum.
Over the month-long program, Bertrand and Whitman observed various portions of the day-to-day operations on the department, and had the opportunity to see traffic stops, Penal Law arrests and fingerprinting.
During the program, the students met with staff members of the David Sullivan-St. Lawrence County Law Enforcement Academy, the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, SUNY Canton Police and St. Lawrence University Safety & Security.
