CANTON — The village police have arrested a 36-year-old Canton man for rape and other charges following an investigation of an April 2020 incident in the village involving juvenile.
On Monday, April 12, Timothy J. Harmer of 36 Spears St. was arrested Monday, April 12, police said.
Harmer was charged with:
• Use of a child less than 17 years of age in a sexual performance (C-Felony);
• Criminal sexual act 3rd degree (Actor 21 years old or more/ Victim less than 17 years) (E-Felony)
• Rape 3rd (Victim less than 17 years old, Perpetrator 21 years or more) (E-Felony)
• Sexual misconduct: Engage in oral/anal sexual contact (A-Misdemeanor)
Harmer was arraigned in Canton Town Court and he was remanded to the St. Lawrence County Jail on $5000 cash/$10,000 Secured Bond.
He is scheduled to appear again in Canton Town Court on May 5, 2021.
