PIERREPONT — A Canton man was charged with driving while intoxicated after allegedly striking a dog with his vehicle and fleeing the scene, according to state police.
Troopers said they charged 57-year-old Frank J. Murdock Jr. with first-offense DWI around 8 p.m.
Police said they observed Murdock strike the animal and then leave the scene of the accident.
Murdock was also found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana, officers said.
His blood-alcohol content (BAC) was reportedly .10%.
Murdock was cited and released.
