CANTON — Two St. Lawrence County men were arrested for drug possession Tuesday morning, according to state police.
Troopers said they were responding to 37-year old James R. Petrie’s residence on an unrelated matter when they located Petrie and another person passed out inside a vehicle.
Police said they charged Petrie with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Joseph A. Morrow, 40, was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, four counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia, officers said.
The two suspects were found in possession of crystal methamphetamine, a quantity of pills which were determined to be buprenorphine hydrochloride and alprazolam, as well as a quantity of cocaine.
Morrow was virtually arraigned by Oswegatchie Town Court and remanded to St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility without bail.
Petrie was released on an appearance ticket.
