Taylor Gale has been selected by the Canton Goldenaires barbershop chorus to receive the first scholarship award given to a student from Gouverneur Central School.

In the photo, she is shown with board members of the Canton Goldenaires.

The award was given to her for her demonstrated involvement, dedication and love for music.

Taylor has performed in musicals, is in the school singing choir, is a member of the Chamber Singers (the select singing group), performed with the North Country Players and played violin in the school orchestra.

As a member of the Choral and Orchestral Development Association, she has served as secretary, vice president and president during her four years in high school. She was also secretary and vice president in Thespian and treasurer for the musical 1776.

She is a member of the Tri-M horror society, and 2010 Conference All-State Mixed Choir.

Taylor scored a 99 at the NYSSMA for her solo in her junior year at Gouverneur.

In addition, Gale is a member of the National Honor Society and organized the November blood drive at school for the NHS Parliamentarian. She has been accepted to and will attend St. Lawrence University next year.

The funds for her scholarship are provided by the Canton Goldenaires annual Singing Valentines program.
