CANTON – The village is receiving today a $2,000 grant to help get Island Park greener.
Price Chopper Supermarkets and Pepsi Beverages Company will present a $2,000 check to the Village of Canton to promote “re-leafing” Canton's Island Park.
The presentation is to be at 2 p.m. today at the Canton Price Chopper.
“Steve Bowers, our store manager in Canton, is looking forward to congratulating a local organization from Canton on submitting a winning application to Price Chopper's Golub
Foundation,” said Price Chopper spokeswoman Mona Golub.
The grant is a part of the "Make A Change Closer to Home" campaign of the Pepsi Refresh program.
Price Chopper’s Golub Foundation reviewed more than 300 organizations and selected 21 winners throughout Price Chopper's six-state region.
