CANTON -- Canton Central School will continue remote instruction on Monday, Nov.23 for students in Grades 5-12, according to Superinendent Ron Burke.
"This additional time is necessary so that definitive answers can be obtained regarding the COVID-19 status of members of our school community at the Grades 5-12 level. Transitioning to remote learning is not a decision that is made lightly. However, to provide the greatest level of safety this is a necessary step," he said in a released statement. "Students attending out of district special education programs and English Language Learning programs will still attend those classes in-person. Students who attend the BOCES ABA program at Canton will also attend classes in-person."
