OGDENSBURG -- The Junior Criminal Justice class at Northwest Tech recently had a chance to clock vehicles driving on State Route 37.

They used radar guns to find the average speed of every driver that passed by them.

The Junior CJ class was also tasked with reporting the speeds they found, the speed varied from 27-52.

They also found a few vehicles that zipped by at 60-75 as well, officials said.

This exercise showed the students another method police have used top catch people speeding.

The Criminal Justice program focuses on the criminal justice system; including instruction in criminal law and policy, police and correctional systems organization, the administration of justice and the judiciary, and the public attitudes regarding criminal justice.

Students are introduced to forensic science including crime scene investigation, anthropology, hair and fiber analysis, soil analysis, blood spatter analysis and practical hands-on activities.
