Bittersweet Farm in Heuvelton accepting orders for garden transplants

HEUVELTON — Bittersweet Farm is now taking orders for garden transplants.

Located at 1249 State Highway 184, outside of Heuvelton, this certified organic farm has been providing community members with strong, healthy plants for over 20 years, said Ann Bennett of Bittersweer Farm.

They offer vegetables, flowers and herbs, both annuals and perennials

"We focus on a number of heirloom varieties," owner and expert gardener, Ann Bennett, said. "This year, we are specifically growing more drought tolerant plants."

Bennett says she is aware of the concerns of food shortages due to COVID19 transportation difficulties and wants to provide interested parties with the plants and tools they need to grow their own gardens.

If people don't have the space for a garden, Bennett is also taking orders for container plants to be grown on porches or windowsills. Plants will be ready beginning in May. Anyone wanting to pre-order transplants can contact Bittersweet Farm at 315-344-0443, bittersweetfarm.bennett@gmail.com, or through Facebook.
