Below normal June temps with scattered rain showers likely today, Saturday in St. Lawrence County

An upper-level low pressure system across southeastern Ontario early this morning will track slowly eastward across the St. Lawrence Valley today, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

This system will bring variably cloudy conditions and scattered light rain showers, NWS says. Temperatures will be below normal for mid-June, with today`s highs in the 60s.

High pressure will briefly build across the region tonight, the service says.

On Saturday, breezy south to southwest winds will develop in advance of a cold front north of the International Border, forecasters say. This front will bring increasing chances for showers Saturday afternoon across Northern New York, mainly during Saturday night.

A high of 69 is expected Saturday with winds of 14 to 17 miles per hour, the service says.

The forecast through Thursday is as follows:

Saturday

Showers likely, mainly after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 69. Southwest wind 14 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Saturday Night

Showers likely, mainly before 11pm. Cloudy, with a low around 56. Southwest wind 9 to 14 mph becoming light after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Sunday

Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 73. Calm wind becoming west 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 76. North wind 3 to 5 mph.
