BANGOR – A barn fire in which 100 cattle died early Monday was intentionally set, according to the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
Senior Investigator Charles Bishop said the blaze, reported to Bangor firefighters just after 1 a.m., said he believes the fire was set using an accelerant.
Just over 100 cattle were killed when the barn at the farm owned by Alain R. Choiniere burned.
The farm is on State Rt. 11B in Franklin County west of Malone.
Bishop says no one is in custody, and that there are numerous interviews to conduct.
