Assembly candidate Forsythe calls new budget “irresponsible”

118th Assembly District candidate David Forsythe says the budget approved by the state legislature is “irresponsible.”

“After more than 120 days past the deadline, the legislature has passed an irresponsible budget that relies too much on the hard working taxpayers and families of New York.”

Forsythe says the budget is “full of tax increases and over spending that we simply cannot afford.”

He gives as an example “the reinstatement of sales tax on clothing. With the beginning of school right around the corner, families of the North Country cannot afford this extra burden.”

Forsythe, a small business owner and St. Lawrence County legislator who is the endorsed Republican and Conservative candidate, says that his opponent, incumbent Assemblywoman Addie Russell, “should have fought harder for her constituents, but instead she has once again let us be disenfranchised by the NYC elite of her party.

“Albany has a spending problem and it needs to come to an end. As our assemblyman I will take a common sense approach to spending your money and ensure that our North Country values are represented in the legislature.”

The 118th Assembly District, the “River District,” includes parts of Jefferson and St. Lawrence Counties.
