Another St. Lawrence County COVID death reported; active cases now 637

Another person has died from COVID-19, according to St. Lawrence County public health officials. New cases climbed 87 as of Sept. 17.

COVID by the numbers in St. Lawrence County:

Total number of confirmed positives to-date: 9,892

Active cases: 637

Released from isolation: 9,143

Hospitalizations: 22

Deaths: 112

Total number of tests performed to date: 381,911

% of Fully vaccinated in St. Lawrence County: 52.2

% of St. Lawrence County positivity rate: 5.89

The St. Lawrence County Public Health Department is currently holding COVID-19 Vaccination clinics every Monday and Wednesday at 80 St. Hwy 310, Suite 2, Canton. To make an appointment, call 315-229-3452.

Vaccinations are available at local pharmacies.

If you or someone you know is homebound and is interested in receiving a COVID-19 vaccine, call Public Health at 315-386-2325.

Testing is being done at the locations listed below. Some urgent cares and provider offices are also performing testing. Testing is by appointment only.

Call the hotline numbers below between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. if you have symptoms or feel you should be tested:

The Saint Regis Mohawk tribe’s Emergency Operations Center and Health Services announced 5 new COVID cases as of Sept. 17.

No additional recoveries were reported.

There are 18 total active cases and 46 remain in quarantine.

COVID cases remain flat at St. Lawrence, SUNY Canton and Clarkson, with SUNY Canton seeing a decline.

St. Lawrence University has 69 active cases among students and no active employee cases.

No students are in mandatory campus quarantine.

There have been 230 confirmed cases since Aug. 11.

One-hundred sixty-one have recovered.

To date, 9,600 tests have been conducted since Aug. 11, with 175 tests pending results.

All St. Lawrence University students are vaccinated.

SUNY Canton reports one active student case in the previous 14 days.

One employee has tested positive.

In total, 1608 tests have been conducted with 1604 negative in the previous 14 days.

Positivity rate is 0.3%.

One student is isolated on-campus.

SUNY Potsdam reports four active cases of students on campus and 18 active cases off campus for a total of 22.

Two active cases among employees remain.

The 14 day positivity rate is 0.92%.

Clarkson University reports 11 active cases on their Potsdam campus.

No active cases remain on their other campuses.

Two have recovered in Potsdam, with one recovery on their other campuses.

Total cases include student and employee numbers.
