MASSENA -- Massena Electric Dept. says 4,000 customers were impacted by a power outage on Tuesday afternoon.
MED Superintendent Andy McMahaon said the outage impacted the village and the western half of the MED service territory.
The power was out starting at 2:03. Some got power back at 2:18 p.m., he said, later adding that West Hatfield Street, customers around Route 56 and those on route 37 in Louisville were restored about 2:29 p.m.
"We are in the process of doing upgrades to one of our substations while maintaining normal service. While doing some routine switching at the station a relay mis-operated. We continue to investigate the problem. There were no injuries," McMahon said.
