$1.7 million will fund St. Lawrence County Head Start programs
The St. Lawrence County Community Development Program, Inc. will receive a $1,782,880 grant from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
The funding will be used to support Head Start projects in the St. Lawrence County area. The Head Start program provides comprehensive early childhood education and development services to promote school readiness for low-income children.“I am proud to announce that valuable taxpayer dollars will be returned back to the North Country in the form of this significant grant,” said North Country Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, R-Schuylerville. “Head Start is a very important program for children and families in our community, and it is essential that we continue to provide federal resources to support its mission of ensuring school readiness. I will continue, as I have each year, to advocate for funding programs like these that have significant impact within our rural communities.
