St. Lawrence County Public Health reports 196 new COVID cases over the weekend and Monday

St. Lawrence County Public Health reports 196 new COVID cases from Saturday, Nov. 27 through Monday, Nov. 29.

COVID by the numbers in St. Lawrence County:

Total number of confirmed positives to-date: 14,647

Active cases: 531

Released from isolation: 13,973

Hospitalizations: 29

Deaths: 143

Total number of tests performed to date: 458,58.

% of Fully vaccinated in St. Lawrence County: 55.8

% of St. Lawrence County positivity rate: 7.89

In accordance with CDC guidance, the St. Lawrence County Public Health strongly urges and recommends you stay 6 feet away from others in the following situations to protect yourself and others.

Inside your home

·Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

·If possible, maintain 6 feet (about 2 arm lengths) between the person who is sick and other household members.

Outside your home

·Remember that some people without symptoms may be able to spread virus.

·Stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arm lengths) from other people.

·Keeping distance from others is especially important for people who are at higher risk of getting very sick.

The St. Lawrence County Public Health Department is currently holding COVID-19 Vaccination clinics every Monday and Wednesday at 80 St. Hwy 310, Suite 2, Canton. To make an appointment, call 315-229-3452.

Vaccinations are available at local pharmacies.

Pfizer Booster Clinics - Appointments are required for the Booster Clinics.

Testing is being done at the locations listed below. Some urgent cares and provider offices are also performing testing. Testing is by appointment only.

The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center and Health Services reported five new cases of COVID-19 in Akwesasne’s southern portion since November 25th.

EOCH reports five individuals have been released from isolation

Ten total active cases remain under the Tribe’s jurisdiction.

Twenty-five individuals remain in quarantine, while two community members are hospitalized due to severe symptoms.
