Vassar edges Saints women's squash team for 3rd in Epps Cup

Vassar College won four matches in extra games at Harvard on Sunday and defeated St. Lawrence University's women's squash team 6-3 in the Epps Cup third place game at the College Squash Association team nationals.

The Saints finish their year at 3-14 overall after going 1-2 with a win over Boston College and a narrow loss to William Smith in the Epps Cup.

Brigitte Tousignant completed a 3-0 tournament to improve to 8-9 on the year with a 3-0 win over Margaret Taylor of Vassar, 11-6, 11-0, 11-6. Kate Holby and Molly Caplan were the other Saint winners against Vassar and finished the tournament with 2-1 records. Caplan beat Jill Levine 3-1, splitting games one and two before finishing it off with 11-2 and 11-9 wins and Holby beat Katherine Cornish in straight games, 11-5, 11-4, 11-8.

Jenn Hearn and Brittany Coxe lost 3-0 at two and three, Kendall Harty lost in three to Alexander Bowditch at four and Charlotte Edson lost in four to Lisa Evans at five. Sanam Khanna beat parker Benedict in four at seven and Amanda Scott rallied from two down to beat Carolyn Fisher at nine.
