Saratoga Springs, NY - A 16-0 run broke open a tight game in the first half and that four-minute stretch proved to be the difference as the Clarkson University Men's Basketball team dropped a 83-63 decision to Skidmore College Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Knights concluded their season with a 12-13 overall record and a 4-10 mark in the Liberty League, while Skidmore edge up to 16-9 and 10-4. The Thoroughbreds will move on to the conference post-season tournament.

The Knights featured several hot hands in the opening minutes, pouring in 16 points in the first six minutes to take a double-digit lead. However, a pair of runs that were only briefly stopped by a Clarkson field goal pushed Skidmore to a sizeable advantage. Clarkson was up 18-9 with 12:38 remaining, but quickly found itself trailing 21-18 (a 12-0 run) at 8:31. After pulling back to within a point a few seconds later, Skidmore buried four 3-pointers in a 16-0 rush that gave the Thoroughbreds a 37-20 advantage with just over four minutes remaining in the half. Clarkson finished the half trailing by 17 points, and after scoring the opening basket of the second half, would never get closer for the remainder of the game.

Felix Llanos (Queens, NY) finished off the season with another solid scoring performance, tallying a game-high 19 points to go along with six rebounds. Senior Rey Jefferson (Budd Lake, NJ) buried four 3-pointers in the game en route to 14 points and classmate Jonathan Hood (Cortlandt Manor, NY) scored 11 points with seven rebounds. Another senior, Shawn Lasalita (San Diego, CA), also scored 11 points for the Knights.

For Skidmore, Gerard O'Shea and Brian Lowry each scored 14 points and Melvis Langyintuo added 12 points and eight rebounds.
