The St. Lawrence University men's basketball team broke open the game with a 9-0 run over a four-minute span midway through the second half and went on to defeat Bard College, 70-57, in a Liberty League contest on Saturday evening.
St. Lawrence, which held a 32-25 advantage at halftime, improved to 10-8 overall with a 6-4 mark in the Liberty League. Senior co-captain Ralph Temgoua led four Saints in double-figures with 22 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Senior Terry Parham added 13 points and five assists, while junior Kyle Miller and rookie Brady Condlin had 11 points apiece. Bard, led by Matt Shubert's 21 points, fell to 3-13 and 1-7 in the league.
Though Bard the deficit down to five with 14:21 left in the second half, responded with a 9-0 run and would not let the home team closer than 11 the rest of the way. The Saints owned a 43-17 advantage in rebounds, and shot 53% from the floor.
St. Lawrence will travel to Potsdam, NY on Tuesday to take on Clarkson in a Liberty League match-up. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00pm.
