POTSDAM, N.Y.—For the second straight season SUNY Potsdam women’s hockey player Breanna Roy (Orleans, Ontario/Nepean Wildcats) has earned all-conference recognition. Roy was named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference West All-Conference Honorable Mention team for the 2010-11 campaign.

Roy finished the season as the Bears’ third-leading scorer with seven goals and 12 assists for 19 points, while playing in all 25 of Potsdam’s games. She was deadly on the power play this season as 12 of her 19 points came on the man-advantage (6g-6a-12pts). The junior’s six power-play goals led the Bears and was the sixth-best total by a defenseman in the nation. Roy’s average of 0.76 points-per-game put her in elite company as it was the 11th-best average by a defenseman nationally.

In her three seasons with Potsdam, Roy has totaled 22 goals and 34 assists for 56 points in 72 games. She was a second-team all-conference selection last season.

After a slow start, the Bears posted a 9-6-2 record in their last 17 games to close the year with a 10-13-2 mark, including a 6-11-1 record in the ECAC West. The 10 victories set a school record for wins in the program’s third season as an NCAA Division III competitor.
