This was the first ever matchup between the two schools. The Roos dropped to 5-5 overall while the Pioneers improved to 8-2-1.
Flores, who has played every minute in goal this season for the Roos, had five saves in the first half and four more in the second.
Jonathon Peterson scored twice to lead Utica and Anthony Caruso and Andrew Boniche combined to make one save.
The Roos will hit the road this weekend as they travel to play 6th-ranked University of Maine at Fort Kent on Saturday and the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Sunday.
