The New York State 2019 NYSPHSAA Basketball Class D champion Harrisville High School boys' basketball team and their coaches were invited to Albany yesterday to receive congratulations from Sen. Joseph Griffo, R-Rome, and Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush, R-Black River on their successful season.

The Pirates captured the state title after defeating Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville High School by a score of 67-54. They ended their impressive season with a 21-6 overall record.

The New York State Legislature recently adopted a legislative resolution honoring the Harrisville Boys Basketball team.

A Senate Resolution sponsored by Sen. Griffo was adopted on March 26, and Assemblyman Blankenbush sponsored an identical resolution in the Assembly, which was adopted on March 25.

The team, their coaches and the legislators posed for a photo at the state capitol Monday.
