St. Lawrence University senior Nordic skier Caroline Carpenter continued her outstanding start to the 2012 season on Sunday, logging her second consecutive 11th place finish at the UVM Carnival in Stowe, VT.

Carpenter, who has solidly put herself into the mix for the 2012 NCAA Championships, raced the women's 10k Freestyle in 29:50.2 to pick up the top-15 showing.

Senior Leah Hart was 24th overall, while first-year student Kate Mulcahy rounded out the team's scoring in 51st place. The trio combined for 60.0 points, good for seventh place in the team standings.

Rookie Emma Duffany (61st) and sophomore Bridget Shea-Gander (68th) also competed for the Scarlet and Brown.

On the men's side, sophomore Eric Lustgarten led St. Lawrence in the men's 10k Free with a time of 26:24.6 to take 27th overall. Seniors Adam Terko (29th) and Teo Jackson (49th) capped the team's scoring at 47.0 points to take eighth as a team.

First-year students Evan Turner (52nd), Austin Meng (53rd) and Will Frielinghaus (54th) rounded out the Saints' line-up on Sunday.

Caitlin Patterson's individual victory in the women's race led her team, the UVM Catamounts, to victory. Dartmouth College won the men's team title, while Middlebury's Patrick Johnson claimed the men's race.

The St. Lawrence Nordic teams will race in the 2012 Dartmouth Carnival next weekend, Friday and Saturday, February 10 and 11 at Oak Hill.
