The St. Lawrence University men's tennis team was narrowly defeated by Ithaca 5-4 on Saturday afternoon at the Reis Tennis Center.  The Saints led 2-1 after the completion of doubles matches, but the Bombers won four of six singles matches to claim the victory. 

St. Lawrence falls to 4-3 on the season while Ithaca improves to 2-3. 

Sophomore Michael Hayden was a double winner for the Saints as he defeated Jimmy Newton 6-4, 6-4 and then teamed up with senior Tony Wilkey to knock off Newton and Josh Rifkin, the third ranked doubles team in the Northeast Region and the 14th in the National Rankings. 

Senior Will Cook earned a victory in the no. 4 position for the Saints, defeating Griffin Reid 7-5, 6-4. 

Junior Chris Rogers and sophomore Tom Timpone earned a victory in third doubles, defeating Les Bowden and Kyle Riether 8-3. 

The Saints will look to rebound from the loss in their dual match against Nazareth on Saturday, April 2nd.  The match is scheduled to start at 12:30am.
