A late second-half rally and a goal from Kellie Cronin with 16 seconds left to play lifted Union to a 10-9 Liberty League win over the St. Lawrence University women's lacrosse team on Friday afternoon at North Country Field.

Senior Alexandra LaMotte led the Saints with four goals, while Kylie Murphy scored three goals, added an assist and picked up three ground balls. Nicole Stanton and Isabel Silvia each scored once, while Silvia also led the Saints with five ground balls, two caused turnovers and four draw control wins. Hannah Drechsel also recorded two caused turnovers.

Lindsay Gerrato opened scoring with her first of five goals on an unassisted tally at 25:04, but the Saints notched goals from Murphy and Stanton to take a 2-1 lead with just over 20 minutes to play in the first half. Union scored three more goals, while the Saints added two, forcing a 4-4 tie at halftime.

The Scarlet and Brown outscored the Dutchwomen 5-2 to build a 9-6 lead with 11:44 remaining in the second frame, but a late second-half rally and four unanswered goals from Gerrato, MK McIntire, Mary Trop and Cronin pushed Union to their third conference win of the season.

"I thought this team showed so much energy, pride, heart and hustle," said head coach Hannah Corkery Collins '11. "I am beyond proud of this team and to be a part of this program. The team did everything they could and unfortunately came up short."

Gerrato led the Dutchwomen with five goals and six draw control wins, while Kellie Cronin tallied the game-winning goal and assisted on two others. Ramsey Walsh, McIntire, Courtney Cronin and Trop also scored for Union. Cronin picked up a team-best three ground balls and caused two turnovers.

Saints' goalkeeper Olga Lukas finished with four saves for the Scarlet and Brown, while Ellie Taney recorded the win for Union with 11 saves.

St. Lawrence held a 30-24 advantage in shots, including a 20-14 edge in shots on goal.

The Saints fell to 4-9 on the season and 2-5 in Liberty League play, while Union improved to 6-5 and 3-4.

The Saints will host Skidmore, who is receiving votes in the latest IWLCA poll, tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m. on senior day.
