The St. Lawrence University women's basketball team defeated Bard College by the score of 70-33 on Saturday afternoon in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY. The Saints, who extended their win streak to 11 games with the victory, improved to 10-0 in the Liberty League and 14-4 overall. Meanwhile, the Raptors remain winless in the league, 0-9, and fall to 1-17.
First-year student Kara McDuffee had a game-high 16 points and five assists to lead the Saints. Classmate Maddy Wetterhahn had 12 points, nine rebounds, two blocks and two assists, while sophomore Katie Abramski added 12 points, nine rebounds, three assists and four steals. Senior Breezy Dwyer contributed eight points, four rebounds and three assists, and first-year student Adriana Spicer had a team-high five steals to go with her seven points.
Though St. Lawrence was down 10-2 early, and the game was tied midway through the first half (10-10), the Saints responded with a 32-4 run that bridged the first and second half en route to the 70-33 win. The Saints outrebounded the Raptors 40-28 and forced 42 turnovers.
St. Lawrence will travel to Potsdam, NY on Tuesday to take on Clarkson. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00pm.
