St. Lawrence University junior captain Caldwell Rohrbach scored three goals and added an assist as the Saints men's lacrosse team snapped a three-game losing skid with a 9-5 victory over Ithaca College on Sunday in Ithaca, NY.

The victory moves St. Lawrence to 4-8 on the season overall, while Ithaca falls back to .500 at 6-6.  The Saints used a 40-23 advantage in shots en route to the non-conference victory.

Rohrbach finished with a game-high four points, while sophomore Tucker Garfield scored twice for the visitors.  Juniors Drake Paul, Kyle Jacobsen and Matt Pope and sophomore Justin Ingram also each picked up a goal in the win.

The Bombers held a 2-0 lead after the first quarter thanks to goals by Andrew Bruce and Tom Mongelli.  However, the Saints would storm back with three straight goals in the second quarter to take a 3-2 advantage.  Jacobsen got the team on the board at 2:56 of the second, with Garfield and Rohbach following for the one goal lead.  Ithaca would tie the score at 3-3 heading into intermission when Mongelli scored his 29th of the year at 10:09.

Though the home team's Brian DiBetta put them back on top at 3:40 of the third, St. Lawrence would rattle off five straight goals to take control of the game.  Rohrbach tied the game at 4-4, while Paul gave the Saints the lead with 2:04 to play in the stanza.  Rohrbach then capped the third quarter scoring with 38 seconds to go for a 6-4 cushion.

Pope and Garfield opened the fourth quarter scoring with two goals in a span of 2:19 for an 8-4 lead with 10:50 to play.  Though Casey Schattner got Ithaca back to within three at 8-5, Ingram would put the game out of reach thanks to his fifth goal of the year with 3:46 to go, giving St. Lawrence a 9-5 win.

David Gal did his best to keep the Bombers in the game despite being heavily outshot, as he made 15 saves while giving up six goals in 45:00 minutes.  Luke Robinson made three saves in 15:00 minutes for Ithaca as well.  Meanwhile, sophomore Jack Nuland made six saves for St. Lawrence in 53:12 of action, while both Matt Ruscio and James Fuller saw time late in the contest.

St. Lawrence will be in action again on Saturday, April 23 in Troy, NY against Rensselaer at 1:00pm.
